William Wack was born in Evansville, Indiana, on Jan. 3, 1859 and studied at St. Meinrad before going
to Innsbruck to complete the last year before his ordination on Feb. 12, 1882. Feeling particularly close to St. Meinrad, he discerned joining the monastery for a time, but decided against it, serving in the parishes of the diocese until his death in Cincinnati on Oct. 28,1917.
